교직발달단계에 따른 초·중등 교사의 연수 요구 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 우리나라 초 · 중등 교사들이 자신의 역량수준에 비추어 어떤 연수교육과정을 제공 받길 희망하는지를 연수내용, 수업방법, 평가방법 측면에서 살펴보았다. 또한 이들이 교직발달단계에 따라 연수에 대한 요구들이 어떻게 달라지는지를 탐색하였다. 이러한 교사연수에 대한 요구를 파악하기 위해 경기도 소재 초등 및 중등학교에 근무하는 교사 755명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 교사들은 대부분의 연수내용 영역에서 자신들이 충분한 역량을 갖추고 있지 못하다고 응답하였는데, 특히 ‘다문화교육’과 ‘특수교육’에 대한 역량 부족을 지적하였다. 또한 초 · 중등 교사들은 교직발달단계에 따라서 연수내용, 수업방법, 평가방법에 대한 요구가 상당히 다른 것으로 나타났다. 교직발달단계에 따른 연수내용별 역량의 차이를 분석해 본 결과, 초등교사의 경우 총 19개 연수내용 중 15개 영역에서, 중등교사의 경우 총 19개 연수내용 중 9개의 영역에서 교직발달단계에 따라 교사들의 역량에 대한 인식이 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이러한 연구결과는 교직발달단계에 따라 연수 요구를 주기적으로 파악하여 이를 반영한 연수 프로그램을 개발 · 운영해야함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine elementary and secondary teacher's needs for their professional development programs. Teachers' needs are examined from three aspects: content, teaching method, and assessment method. Especially, this study investigated whether teachers' needs were different based on their professional development stage The sample for this study comprised 755 elementary and secondary teachers and the teachers completed a questionnaire. The results were as followed. First, Needs of professional development programs for guidance and counseling were highest regardless of the school level. Teachers' competence level related to the content areas were lower. Especially, their competence level in multicultural education and special education were lowest. Secondly, preferences of lecture and relative evaluation were the lowest regardless of the school level. Third, teachers' needs for the content of professional development programs were different according to their teaching experiences. Based on the results of the study, several implications were discussed.
