시각장애학생의 통합교육 지원 방안 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 장애 특성에 따른 개별적 요구 및 지원을 중심으로 한국에서 시작장애학생의 통합교육을 촉진하고 증진시키기 위해 지원되어야 할 방안을 탐색하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이 연구를 위해 영국을 중심으로 하여 미국, 독일의 시각장애학생의 통합교육 지원 방법이나 사례를 알아보고, 한국의 시각장애학생 통합교육 현황 및 관련 정책을 분석하였다. 이에 시사점을 얻어 연구 목적을 수행하였으며, 문헌 연구를 통하여 해결 방안을 찾아보았다. 본 연구의 결과 첫째, 시각장애학생을 포함한 ‘전 장애 학생의 통합교육 현황 및 실제에 대한 평가’를 통해 거주지에서 가까운 통합된 교육환경에 배치될 수 있는 법적 권리가 보장될 수 있도록 하고, 시각장애학생들이 제공받을 수 있는 지원의 종류와 절차 및 방법을 안내하는 ‘시각장애학생 통합교육 지참서’ 등이 발행되어야 할 것으로 제안되었다. 둘째, 시각장애학생들의 개별적 요구 및 지원 사항인 교육과정에의 참여 및 접근을 위해서 교재의 점역 및 확대, 맹학생과 저시력 학생의 장애 특성에 맞는 학습보조기기와 보조공학기기의 제공, 학습 매체 및 도구의 활용을 도와줄 수 있는 보조인력(특수교육보조원)의 배치 등과 점자 및 사회통합 기술, 일상생활 기술, 보행 등을 지도해 주거나 특수학급 및 통합학급 교사에게 자문해 줄 순회교사 지원 등의 방안이 마련되어야 할 것으로 제안되었다.

영문 초록

This research aims at finding the method of supporting the promotion and advancement of inclusive education for students with visual impairment, focusing on the individual demand and support fir different characteristics of impairment. For the research, cases of supporting inclusive education for students with visual impairment of the United States and Germany was examined, centering on England. The current status and related policies on inclusive education for students with visual impairment in Korea have been analyzed as well. Implications have been found to set the objective of research on seeking methods to support the advancement of inclusive education for students with visual impairment in Korea, and literary study was carried out to find the ways to achieve this objective. As a result of the research, firstly, it was suggested that- regarding the support for inclusive education for students with visual impairment- legal rights should be guaranteed for students to be placed in the nearest inclusive education environment from their homes through 'valuation of the current status and practice of inclusive education for all students with impairments'; and the some kind of 'guidance for inclusive education for students with visual impairment' should be issued that guide the types, process, and method of which students with visual impairment can receive supports. Secondly, in order to access regarding the curriculum, which is the matter of individual demands of students with visual impairment and of providing support, methods of the following supports should be arranged: brailling and enlarging textbooks; providing students who are blind or have low vision with instruments for studying and technical assistants that at appropriate to their impairments; positioning assisting faculty (special education assistants) to help students use the media and instruments for studying; guiding the skills for reading braille type, social integration, daily life, and movement; and supporting roving teachers who will consult teachers of special class or inclusive class.
