영문 초록

Forty cases of tuberous sclerosis were clinically investigated during the last 13 years from March 1980 to Semptember 1993 and we had gotten the following conclusions.: 1) Tuberous sclerosis is multisystem disease characterized by the triad of mental retardation, epilepsy, and adenoma sebaceum. 2) The infant and early childhood may have depigmentation with infantile spasm as a diagnostic clue. 3) Computed tomography or magnetic resornance imaging of brain is essential for diagnosis as finding of periventricular calcification even in patients who have no calcification in plain skull x-ray. 4) It would be necessary to check up the patient reguarly and long term follow up because the patient may develop tumor in various organs.
