미술작품 감상에서 은유와 환유에 의한 의미 형성

국문 초록

  본 연구는 미술작품 감상에서 은유와 환유의 역할을 탐색하여, 은유 과정과 환유 과정이 결합된 의미 형성 과정의 기본 도식을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 미술 작품의 의미 형성 과정의 기본 도식은 〈미술작품의 매개 개체를 감상자가 지각할 때, 그것에 의해 환유적으로 활성화된 목표 개체를 향해 감상자는 환유적으로 활성화된 자신 내부의 근원 영역을 미술작품의 목표 영역에 은유적으로 투사하여 통합하고 이 통합에 주의한다.〉이다. 이 의미 형성 과정에서 환유적 사상(mapping)과 은유적 사상은 중요한 역할을 수행한다. 환유적 사상은 목표 영역인 미술작품의 매개 개체가 동일한 영역의 목표 개체를 향할 때와 이 목표 개체가 감상자의 체험적 게슈탈트의 양상들의 일부분만을 제공할 때 수반된다. 은유적 사상(mapping)은 감상자가 형성한 의미가 추상적 상황의 구조와 논리의 이해를 향하여 구체적 상황의 구조와 논리의 이해를 통합할 때 수반된다.

영문 초록

  The purpose of this study is to develop the basic schema of creating meaning combined with metaphorical process and metonymical process by searching the role of metaphor and metonym in appreciation. The basic schema of meaning creating in appreciation is; when appreciator percept vehicle entity of a work of art, the appreciator projects and integrates metaphorically from the source domain inside appreciator to the target domain of a work of art toward target entity activated metonymically from the vehicle entity, and notice that integration. This step includes metaphorical mapping and metonymical mapping. Metonymical mapping is entailed when vehicle entity of a work of art that is target domain faces target entity in same domain or when the target entity supplies some part of personal experiential Gestalt"s modes. Metaphorical mapping is entailed when the meaning constructed by appreciators is integrated from apprehension of the structure and logic of concrete situation to apprehension of those of abstract situation.
