초등학교 일반학급 교사들이 인식한 학급 내 문제행동 실태와 그 대처방안

국문 초록

  이 연구에서는 다양한 배경을 가진 초등학교 통합학급 교사들을 대상으로, 통합학급에서의 장애학생들이 보이는 다양한 문제행동과 그에 대한 대처방안에 대해 어떻게 생각하고 있는지 알아보았다. 초등학교 통합학급 교사들이 지각한 문제행동 유형으로는 대상 학생의 성, 학년에 관계없이 주의산만 및 충동행동 행위가 가장 많았다. 하지만, 교사들이 가장 대처하기 어려워하는 문제행동은 공격적인 언행이나 심한 불불순응이었다. 문제행동에 대처하기 위한 바람직한 지원 형태로는 전문가를 학교에 파견하거나 치료센터 및 병원 소속 전문가를 활용하는 것을 선호하였다. 사이버 공간상에서 사례를 중심으로 학생의 문제행동에 효과적으로 대처할 수 있도록 전문적인 지원을 제공하는 방법에 대해서는 응답한 교사 거의 대부분이 적어도 어느 정도 혹은 많이 유용할 것으로 인식하고, 또한 이를 활용할 계획이 있다고 응답하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 교사들을 대상으로 한 각종 연수프로그램이나 지원프로그램을 개발하거나 설계할 때 공격적 언행이나 심한 불순응 같이 교사들이 특히 대처하기 어려워하는 내용을 중심으로 집중적으로 효과적인 대처방안을 제공할 필요가 있음을 시사한다. 교사들이 다양한 문제행동에 대해 효과적으로 대처하도록 돕기 위해서는 전문가들이 각 학교 현장에서 일어나고 있는 다양한 유형의 문제행동에 대해서 구체적이고도 효과적인 대처방안을 교사들이 필요로 할 때에는 언제든지 제공해줄 수 있는 시스템을 구축하는 것이 필요할 것으로 여겨진다.

영문 초록

  In this study, we surveyed elementary general education classroom teachers about their perceptions on students" behavior problems, possible effective interventions against the problems, and the usefulness of a cyber supporting system. Majority of the teachers, regardless of their background variables, experienced mostly inattention and impulsive behaviors with the highest frequency. However, they reported aggressive language and behaviors and severe disobedient behaviors as the most challenging behavior problems to manage with. Regarding desirable approaches for the behavior problems, the teachers preferred using school-residing professionals or those professionals from clinic centers or hospitals. Teachers were somewhat optimistic about potential benefits of case-based professional cyber supporting systems, and they showed moderate to strong willingness of using those systems. These results imply that teacher training programs should be developed and implemented, focused on providing effective solutions against challenging behavioral problems such as aggressiveness and disobedience. To help teachers manage problem behaviors, we may need a system that can provide effective professional assistance whenever they need it.
