영문 초록

  This research is aimed to easily reach for residents" desire about river environment with environmental diagnostics by the residents themselves.
  In addition, it purposes for proposing basic materials to reflect in plans for river maintenance by understanding the elements of the water-familiar characteristic for an urban stream and the residents" assessment about neighborhood.
  Therefore, this is to study the neighborhood around Sinchun, one of the rivers in Daegu, as follows:
  1) Identify environmental awareness of local residents for the surrounding and the rivers environment with writing the environmental diagnostics map.
  2) Understand behaviors and water-familiar elements of the river environment which is recognized by local residents.
  This allows for building the basic materials for policy support system, can be suggest a policy direction, in the maintenance of river environment.
