The purpose of Make-up have shifted from outside beauty which deal with external effects of make-up to psychological role in which make-up expresses psychological character, thinking way and value pursuit recently. Based on this recent concept of psychological role of make-up, this study analyzed association among psychological typology, image sought and make-up color.
In this study, MBTI analysis of C.G. Jung was performed to find out consumer"s psychological characters. Next we collected pursuit images through open-ended question method from pilot study. Then we analyzed association among psychological typology, image sought and make-up color.
The results of this study shows that people who have same type of psychological character prefer same type of image pursuit and eventually like same type of make-up colors. It means that psychological typology, image sought and make-up color are inter-related one another. Therefore, Make-up expresses not only external beauty of people but also psychological role. To analyze the relationship among psychological typology, image sought and make-up color, we used consumer survey method then through data analysis, we suggested practical and theoretical implications about psychological role of Make-up.
