Body art, one of the emerging art fields in the late 20th century, are presenting the various meanings and patterns, influenced by the contemporarily prevailing postmodernism. Postmodernism is a core terminology which denotes the dominant cultural phenomena in the late 20th century. It makes various patterns tend to appear interrelated with one another, influenced by the resurrection of pluralism which is caused mainly by the "disappearnace of the subject". It presents not only a certain specific style, a decoration method, and a meaning, but also a union with various heterogeneous propensities and meanings. Besides, it characterizes ethnic trends responding to globalization, and represents deconstruction paradigm destroying the ordinary forms of cultures. Alos, it prefers improvise and temporary vogues with its experimentalism. Each season the megatrend of fashion decides makeup style, accessaries, and other body decoratives as well as the styles of costumes. Some times, however, body art leads its own trends and vogues without regard to the megatrend. Body art in contemporary fashion represents "the return to the primitive" and "the pursue to the innocent", and expresses deconstruction, synchronization, composite imitation, and retro style.
