In the new era of the 21st century coupled with the concept of a fully digitalized managerial trend, it was necessary to manage police affairs with this advanced technology. To establish a customer-oriented and service-based police system, Taiwan police has been executed a digitalization and a monitoring camera system at every important intersection, and digitalizing the case reporting and police operation and communication systems.
With these innovations the police can make real-time responses more efficiently and achieve “information asymmetry” more comprehensively. Since these new initiatives, 99% of the cases went via the system, and in turn roughly saved 50% of the time on the police management and operation.
The monitoring system installed at every important intersection was meant to decrease crime rate and improve traffic conditions. A monitoring network has been set up to enhance the collaboration among each district in order to stop crimes and make an accurate report on traffic flow; furthermore, the system facilitates the investigation of criminal cases and the track of hit-and-run vehicles. With these systems totally in Taoyuan County & Jiayi City crime clear rate has increased by 67% compare to the last year of 2003.
