영문 초록

  In this treatise, I studied the stranger-consciousness of Baek Seok"s poems. I studied it through his all poems. First of all, I studied his early poems in the poetical work Deer. In his early poems, the nostalgia for the transcendental native place is found.
  In the middle of his life of poet, he wrote many journey poems. I studied his journey poems in relation to stranger-consciousness. In his journey poems, many landscapes and sceneries are treated as poetic object. He took many journeys to Southern districts, Kwanbuk districts and North-western districts.
  His later poems were written in Manju. Also in his later poems, he shows the stranger-consciousness. In this period, he wandered very much to find the transcendental native place of Korean people.
  Finally, in his all poems, the skills of writing of modernism are found. The content of his poems is folk, but the skill of writing is refined. These different things are connected with stranger-consciousness. The strangers in Baek Seok"s poems have an aesthetic of observation.
