The purpose of this study is to grasp the core conception of the differentiated curriculum in elementary English education in Korea. Fundamentally, the differentiated curriculum is based on the individual difference. For English learners, there are the basic standards of their activities to perform for enhancing communicative ability. The standards which they should achieve in the given grade are basic, if they couldn"t achieve the standard and then they should do easier steps for the basic standards. If they could achieve the basic standards, they can go further step based on the activities the basic standards are required to perform. In addition to this concept, the core conception of the differentiated curriculum should be understood by the collaborative learning activities. In English education, task-based language teaching and learning make learners to understand the core conception of the differentiated curriculum.
