영문 초록

  Melanin is a polymer of phenol which produces hyperpigmentation with an increase in melanin pigment in the skin. Melanin synthesis is catalyzed by the enzyme tyrosinase. A inhibitor of melanin biosynthesis was isolated from the flower of Impatiens balsamina by activity-guided fractionation and subsequently identified as kaempferol. It strongly inhibited tyrosinase and inhibited melanin formation of Streptomyces bikiniensis as well. It did not inhibit the growth of S. bikiniensis in the concentrations used in this study. The results will be able to apply to cosmetic and medical fields.
