Finn"s Strategy is the activities to develop competitive advantages or create environment changes by the way of adaption firm"s inside resources and technologies to firm"s outside opportunities and threats. With the basis of firm"s resources and capabilities, Firm"s Strategy can be forecasted and influence heavily upon firm"s performance. To solve the relationship between strategic tendency and performance, this study analysed firms which registered in Korean Securities Exchange Market.
First of all, I classified sample firms with the base of Porter"s generic strategies and studied firm"s performances in each strategy group. Especially this study used various performance measurements, those were overall performance and effectiveness, adaptiveness, efficiency.
After research, I found that there were differences among firm"s performances according to strategic tendencies. That is, efficiency in cost advantage strategy group, effectiveness and adaptiveness in differentiation strategy group, all performances in dual strategy group was(were) the highest respectively. But There is no strategic differences among industries(consumer durable goods industry and consumer non-durable goods industry and service industry).
For more useful implications, I also conducted industrial comparative analysis of firm performances and cross tabulation between strategic tendencies and industry.
