영문 초록

Using the concept of expected profit, the author tries to explain the economic reasons why the merchants or distributors sell or distribute imported goods as domestic goods and what are the factors affecting the illegal transaction of imported goods. Merchants or distributors sell or distribute the imported goods as what they are or as the domestic goods. They would prefer to sell or distribute the imported goods as the domestic goods when they can obtain the more profit by selling or distributing imported goods as the domestic goods rather than the imported goods, which is illegal. The factors affecting the illegal behavior of selling or distributing the imported goods as the domestic goods are as follows : the probability of being caught during the illegal transaction of the imported goods, the markup of price obtained by selling or distributing the imported goods as the domestic goods, the additional costs paid by the illegal sellers or distributors when they make the imported goods look like the domestic goods by re-packaging or individual packaging, and the penalties that the illegal sellers or distributors should pay, and other burdens that the illegal sellers or distributors should bear when they are caught during the illegal transaction of the imported goods. Based upon the analysis, the author suggested several policy measures to lessen or hinder the illegal transaction of the imported goods.
