국문 초록

합집단 연계화 방법으로 수능의 선택 과목 점수를 조정한 선행 연구가 양호한 결과를 보였지만, 2005수능이 합집단 방법의 전제 조건을 충족하기 어렵다는 지적에 따라 연쇄 동백분위 방법을 약간 변형한 연계화 방법으로 선택 과목 점수들을 조정하는 방안을 연구했다. 공통사회 또는 공통과학을 조정자로 하는 연계화 결과와 영어를 중심으로 한 조정 결과의 차이를 RMSD로 계산해 보니, 변형된 연쇄 동백분위 연계화 방법은 매우 불안정한 결과를 보였다. 본 연구와 선행 연구를 종합해 볼 때 2005수능의 선택 과목 점수를 조정할 때에는 합집단 연계화 방법이 적절하다고 판단하였다. 합집단 연계화 방법을 2005수능에 적용하기 위해서는 합집단 방법의 전제 조건을 고려해야 하는데, 이 문제에 관해 논의했다. 연계화는 동등화 방법에서 따온 것이기 때문에 공정성 가정을 고려해야 하는데, 연계화 가능성을 위해 완화된 공정성 가정을 논의했다.

영문 초록

Even though a preceding research using the synthetic group linking method showed acceptable results, not being confident of fitting 2005 CSAT data to the assumptions of that method, I studied applicability of the modified chained equipercentile linking method to CSAT elective subject tests. Comparing the scaled scores of elective tests linked by Common Social Studies or Common Natural Sciences and the scaled scores linked by English as a moderator, RMSDs of the modified chained equipercentile linking method were much higher. Considering this result and that of preceding research, I concluded that the synthetic group linking method is more applicable to 2005 CSAT elective subject tests. In order to rationalize my conclusion, I discussed the assumptions of synthetic group method in the perspective of linking different subject tests. In relation to the linking method, I also discussed weak equity property, a less restrictive version of F. Lord's equity property.
