영문 초록

The idea of modern time articulated with 24 hours a day has brought radical changes in people's society and life. This is true of our modern literature in which the idea of modern time have had powerful influence on the existing conditions of modern literature based upon such journalism as newspaper, journal and so on. The modern people described in literary works can not help having very tense life in the time relentlessly running toward the future. The literary situations should be produced, circulated and consumed for very short term. In particular, this situations have to take up the temporality relying upon such modern mechanism as railway, and the circulation space of literature is shaped around the district of railway stations or transportation crossroads as well. This characteristics of modern literature function as a moment stimulating writers' literary self-consciousness. The modern writers was are wandering between temporality and literariness. The work of Kuy Keo Rae was created in this situations. The negotiations between temporality and literariness were the crucial topic of our modern literature and even now remain as an essential theme in our literary history.
