Thioltransferase, which is required for glutathione (GSH)-dependent formation of deoxyribonucleotides by ribonucleotide reductase, has been identified and purified to homogeneity from leaf mustard, The isolation procedure involved four chromatography steps on DEAE-cellulose, Sephadex G-l00 (2nd), and Q-Sepharose, The final preparation was homogenous as judged by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, Its molecular weight was estimated to be about 15 kDa, The purified enzyme was characterized on several aspects such as optimal pH, Km, and Vmax
