국문 초록

A 14-year-9-month-old girl presented with a Class II Division 1 malocclusion featuring a pronounced overjet and deep overbite, protruded maxillary incisors, and a gummy smile. In addition, she exhibited functional habits such as mouth breathing and lip biting. To correct these issues, the Tweed-Merrifield directional force technique was applied after extracting the maxillary first premolars and the impacted mandibular canine, thereby establishing an optimal occlusal relationship and enhancing facial esthetics. Notably, the treatment outcomes have remained stable over a 10-year retention period.
