발달장애 특수학교 전공과 교사의 취업 학생 사후관리 경험과 그 의미

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 발달장애 특수학교 전공과 사후관리 담당 교사의 경험과 그 의미를 알아봄으로써 특수학교 전공과의 사후관리에 대한 시사점을 탐색하는데 있다. 이를 위해 충북, 충남, 대전 지역특수학교에서 전공과 취업학생의 사후관리 경험이 있는 교사 8명을 대상으로 면담을 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 포괄적 분석절차에 따라 분석하였다. 연구 결과 ‘학교 밖 낯선 곳에서 사후관리 전문가로’, ‘흩어진 퍼즐 조각 맞추기: 학생, 학부모, 사업체, 동료교사와 함께’, ‘성공적 직업유지를 위한 밑그림’의 3개 상위범주와 12개의 하위범주, 32개의 의미단위가 도출되었다. 특수교사에게 사후관리는 과중한 업무·부담감·책임감 등의 어려움으로여겨지지만, 특수교사들은 이를 장애학생 취업에 대한 열정과 노력으로 극복하며 성장하고 있었다. 효과적인 사후관리를 위해서는 부모, 사업체 담당자, 동료교사들과 직업유지를 위한 사후 지원의 중요성을 함께 공감하고 협력해야하며, 성공적 직업유지를 위해서는 학생의 의지, 성실한 태도, 대인관계 기술 등이 중요하고, 무엇보다도 학생에게 적합한 직업배치가 이루어져야함을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 특수학교 전공과의 효과적인 사후관리를 위해서 학생의 직업 정보에 대한 체계적 관리, 사후관리 담당 전문 인력이나 전문 기관의 지원이 요구되는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine special education teachers’ experiences when following up students with developmental disabilities who were employed after completing the post-secondary education program in the specialized schools (PEPSS: JeonGongGwa in Korean). Participants included eight special school teachers who were responsible for PEPSS. The data, collected from in-depth interviews, was analyzed by the comprehensive analysis procedures based on a pragmatic eclecticism. Three upper categories emerged: (a) becoming an expert in providing follow-up services and managing students, (b) putting the puzzle pieces together: a student, parents, business, and peer teachers, (c) a rough sketch for the successful job maintenance. The difficulties in managing follow-up job services included the unfamiliar tasks that are different from delivering instructions, heavy responsibilities, overburdened duties, etc. Teachers emphasized a need for the strong partnership among parents, business partners, and peer teachers to meet each student’s needs. Lastly, factors that lead to the successful job maintenance are associated with a proper job placement, students’ social skills and positive attitudes, the systematic information management, and support from professional organizations.
