영문 초록

4 Cases of male genital self-mutilation, were investigated with psychiatric points of view including socioeconomical back-ground, personal history, and psychodynamisms. We could get somewhat distinct characteristics as follows. 1. Almost all of them are included in a low socioeconomical class and are singles and had no religion. 2. They were deprived of their parental care early in their life especially during their critica l period for indentify for mation. 3. There may be no relation between their physical、illness and the acting-out. and their distorted body image seems to do more significant role in their mutilating acts. 4. They all were in depressive, mood before mutilation but thereafter the affect was cleared except one who was unsuccessful in his act. 5. Their clinical diagnoses are schizophrenias. 6. All of them were confused about their sexual indentity, and rather indent if ied with their mother. Three o f them revealed to have the hem osexual wishes, 7. Wish to be or delusion of being female, and punishment or cure of the failure of the male roles are their main psychodynamism s, and incestuous feelings or urges can be traced not infrequently.
