Bibliometric Analysis of the Relationship Between Green Logistics Management Practices and Firm Performance

Purpose: This study aims to systematically analyze the relationship between green logistics management practices and firm performance during the period of 2001 to 2024. Design/methodology/approach: A total of 4349 documents were identified from the Scopus database based on search results of titles, abstracts, and keywords. We conduct the bibliometric analysis approach through the VOSviewer software in conjunction with Excel. Findings: Our research findings indicate that publications regarding the relationship between GLMPs and FP are established by reputable journals, including the Journal of Cleaner Production, Sustainability, International Journal of Production Economics, European Journal of Operation Research, Business Strategy and The Environment, International Journal of Production Research. Following which, the study of Lin et al. (2014) is the most influential paper with citation counts of 727, whereas the study of Khan et al. (2018) is the most important study, serving as a seminal pillar for the foundation of GLMPs knowledge and a guidance for subsequent studies on the same subject. Meanwhile, in terms of the most productive and influential countries, China, the United Kingdom, and the United States, are ranked highest among the 51 nations in the dataset. Research limitations/implications: These findings offer a one-stop overview of the existing academic landscape of the research domain of GLMPs and FP, by not only underscoring the comprehensive picture of current research on GLMPs, but also reveal future research directions. Originality/value: Importantly, our findings that the necessity of further research to explore the relationship between GLMPs and firm performance.
