국문 초록

본고에서는 원주시역사박물관 소장품 가운데 한자를 변용하여 우리말을 표기한 차자표기 자료를 새롭게 발굴해 내고 소개하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 우선 차자표기란 무엇이고 어떻게 분류할 수 있는지에 대해 살펴본 후, 이를 바탕으로 원주시역사박물관에 소장되어 있는 차자표기 자료를 이두 자료와 구결 자료, 그리고 기타 자료로 나누어 그 특징을 살펴보았다. 이두 자료는 조선 후기에 해당하는 1800년대 이후의 자료가 대부분이었으며, 구결 자료는 특이하게도 祭文에 구결자가 달린 음독구결 자료와 한글 음독구결 자료가 존재하였다. 마지막으로 대한제국 시기 이후의 자료 중에는 점점 이두 자료의 형식에서 탈피해 가며 현대의 국한문혼용문체와 유사해져 가는 자료들도 발견할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article is to discover and introduce the newly discovered Chaja-marking materials in the Wonju City History Museum, which are written in Korean by adapting Chinese characters. To this end, we first looked at what Chaja-marking materials are and how they can be classified, and then, based on this, we examined the characteristics of the Chaja-marking materials in the Wonju City History Museum and divided them into three types: Idu materials, Kugyol materials, and other materials. The Idu materials were mostly from the 1800s and later, corresponding to the late Joseon Dynasty, while the Kugyol materials were characterized by the existence of both Eumdok Kugyol materials, which had a Kugyol characters on the ceremonial texts, and Hangeul Eumdok Kugyol materials. Finally, among the materials from the post-Korean Empire period, we also found materials that gradually departed from the format of Idu materials and became more similar to the modern Korean-Chinese hybrid style.
