국문 초록

스타트업은 기존에 없던 새로운 아이디어와 비즈니스 모델을 통해 새로운 가치를 창조한다. 따라서 끊임없이 성장하는 스타트업 생태계는 한 나라의 경제 발전에 중요한 역할을 한다. 한국과 이스라엘은 부존자원이 부족하여 인적 자원의 능력에 의존한다는 공통점을 갖고 있다. 본 연구는 공통분모를 가지고 있는 두 나라의 스타트업 생태계를 비교하여 공통점과 차이점을 살펴보고자 했다. 비즈니스 생태계 및 산업의 다양성 등의 이론으로 산업 생태계 비교에 대한 근거로 삼았다. 전 세계 스타트업 산업의 동향을 파악하여 전체 흐름을 제시했고, 양국 스타트업 생태계를 특징, 트렌드, 투자유치, 정부 지원, 사회 구조 측면에서 비교했다. 비교 분석한 연구내용을 통해 두 나라의 스타트업 생태계에 대한 이해를 높이고자 했고, 한 걸음 더 나아가 생태계의 이해관계자들에게 통찰을 제공함으로써 지속 가능한 경쟁력을 갖추기 위한 도움이 되고자 했다.

영문 초록

Startups create new values through innovative ideas and business models that did not exist before. Therefore the ever-growing startup ecosystem plays a vital role in a country’s economic development. South Korea and Israel have a common characteristics that they depend on the capabilities of human resources due to their lack of natural resources. This study attempted to examine the similarities and differences by comparing the startup ecosystems of the two countries with common denominators. The theory of business ecosystem and industry diversity was used as the basis for the comparison of industrial ecosystems. The trends of the global startup industry were identified and the overall flow was presented, and the startup ecosystems of the two countries were compared in terms of characteristics, trends, investment attraction, government support, and social structure. Through the contents of the comparative analysis, it was intended to enhance the understanding of the startup ecosystem of the two countries, and furthermore it was intended to help acquiring sustainable competitiveness by providing insights to stakeholders of the ecosystem.
