중국어권 학습자의 효과적인 한국어 초급 발음교육을 위한 실험

국문 초록

중국어권 학습자들에게 효과적인 발음 교육 방법을 알아보기 위해, 한국어를 처음 배우는 두 개의 중국어권 학습자 집단을 대상으로 아래와 같은 실험을 하였다. 한 집단은 교사의 발음을 단순히 듣고 따라하는 직접교수법으로, 다른 집단은 조음 위치와 조음 방법 등의 음성학적 정보를 제시하고 발음을 교육하는 청각구두식 방법으로 동일 시간 동안 교육을 하고, 같은 문항으로 “받아쓰기”를 하여, 각 집단의 음소 인지력을 알아보았다. 그 결과 중국어권학습자들에게 보다 효과적인 발음 교육방법은 단순 반복을 통한 직접교수법이라는 것을 밝힌다.

영문 초록

This paper presents an experiment conducted with the aim of investigating an effective method of Korean language pronunciation education for Chinese learners who are novices at learning Korean. The experiment was performed with two target groups using two different approaches as follows : the Direct Method, which implies solely repeat ing by learners after listening teacher's pronunciation, was applied to the first group. Whereas, the second group was taught using the Audiolingual Method, involving presenting the students with phonetic information, such as places of articulation, manners of articulation and so on, before practical pronunciation teaching. These two groups were taught during the same period of time and in the course of experiment their phoneme cognition was assessed through a “dictation” with identical questions. As a result, Direct Method through repetition proved to be a more effective way of teaching Korean pronunciation to Chinese learners.
