영문 초록

This paper surveys on the present state of Korean language education at Universities in Europe. The information contained in this report was gathered mainly through questionnaires which were distributed to the person in charge of Korean language education at European Universities. Some information are added and supplemented based on the articles written by Korean language specialists mentioned in the reference. The survey shows that at present, Korean language is taught at around 30 Universities in 14 different countries in Europe, including United Kingdom, France, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Bulgaria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Italy, Norway, Poland, and Rumania. We could not contact Spain, Portugal, and Belgium during the present survey, but Korea Research Foundation (KRF) record reports that Korean is also taught in those countries. Considering the missing information due to the lack of time and efforts, the number of Universities teaching Korean language would be higher than the present report.
