영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand how the diaspora identity of the independent generation of Koryoin in Kyrgyzstan is perceived and developed. The Koryoin society in Kyrgyzstan is an influx society formed by voluntary remigration after Stalin’s death, and the Koryo people of the independent generation are descendants of Koryo people born and raised in Kyrgyzstan, an independent country formed after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. By applying consensual qualitative research methods to analyze the diaspora identity of the independent generation of Koryoin in Kyrgyzstan, we were able to derive 3 large areas, 8 central areas, and 25 categories. Through this study, it was confirmed that the diaspora identity of the independent generation of Koryo people in Kyrgyzstan was actively reproduced, had a mixed identity, and is still going on as a variable identity. Although the results of this study are limited to independent generation Koryoin in Kyrgyzstan, generalizations are limited, but they can serve as basic data for future Korean policies and subsequent studies of Koreans.
