국문 초록

본 연구는 경영자 보상 연구에 대한 심도 있는 고찰 및 제언을 제공하는 것을 연구목적으로 삼고 있다. 보다 구체적으로, 본 연구의 목적은 다음과 같은 2가지로 구성된다. 첫째, 지금까지의 경영자 보상 연구를 충실하게 그리고 비판적으로 검토한다. 이를 위해, 선행연구를 최대한 적절히 선별하고 선정된 선행연구들을 비판적으로 살펴본다. 둘째, 국내 경영자 보상에 초점을 맞춰 해당 보상이 합리적인 근거에 의해 설명이 가능한 지 비판적으로 검토한다. 또한, 이 같은 검토에 근거하여 여러 제언을 제공하고 미래 연구를 위한 바람직한 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구의 공헌점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 선행연구를 비판적으로 검토하는 과정에서 기존 연구에서 제시하지 않고 있는 새로운 시각에 기반한 시사점을 제공한다고 판단된다. 둘째, 국내의 경영자 보상 값이 적절한 지급근거에 의해 설명될 수 있는지 여부에 관해 의구심을 제공하는 본 연구의 비판적 관점은 및 제언은 미래 연구를 위한 바람직한 방향을 제시할 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to provide an in-depth review and recommendations on CEO compensation research. More specifically, this study has two objectives. First, we air to faithfully and critically review the existing CEO compensation research. To do so, we select the most relevant studies and critically examine the selected studies. Second, we focus on Korean CEO compensation and critically examine whether such compensation can be explained by rationales. Based on this review, we provide a number of suggestions and suggest desirable directions for future research. The contributions of this study are as follows. First, by critically reviewing the previous studies, we provide suggestions based on new perspectives that are not presented in the existing studies. Second, the critical perspective and suggestions of this study, which provide doubts about whether the value of managerial compensation in Korea can be explained by appropriate pay rationale, are expected to provide desirable directions for future research.
