국문 초록

오늘날 민족주의는 세계화를 저해요소로 평가되고 있다. 그러나 분단된 한국에서는 새로운 역사를 창조하기 위한 이념적 대안이 바로 민족주의인데, 이것은 역사적 교훈 속에서 남북 단일체의 공통적 기억을 함유하고 있기 때문이다. 따라서 우리는 세계화 속에서 한국 민족주의의 방향성을 찾고, 통일 환경을 조성하기 위한 대안의 모색으로서 민족주의를 활용해야 한다. 그런데 통일 한국을 조성하기 위해서는 주변국과의 협력과 안보가 보장되어야 하는데, 이를 위협하는 요소로 대두되는 것이 중국의 민족주의이다. 특히 중국은 탄생부터 지금까지 지속적으로 시기와 상황에 따라 민족주의가 생존전략의 한 주축으로 존재하고 있다. 중국의 민족주의는 중화사상(中華思想)이 외부의 충돌로 인한 굴욕적 침탈의 반증으로 근대적 민족주의가 형성되었다. 뿐만 아니라 현재 중국의 민족주의는 개혁ㆍ개방에 따른 경제성장의 동력을 바탕으로 과거의 치욕을 극복하고 동북아 지역을 넘어 전(全)세계적 영향력을 행사하는 근본적인 힘이 되어 가고 있다. 따라서 이에 대한 철저한 진단과 평가를 통해 한국은 중국 민족주의의 활약에 대해서 대응전략 및 한국적 민족주의를 구상함으로서 세계화 시대의 통일 환경을 마련해야 한다. 이를 위해서 한국의 민족주의는 먼저 외부의 접촉 속에서 주체적 균형 감각을 잃지 말아야 한다. 또한 한국의 민족주의는 국제사회의 불평등을 불식시킬 수 있는 국가적 힘을 기르기 위해 역사적 저항의식을 고취시켜야 한다. 이와 더불어 과거 한국은 조국 근대화의 목적으로 국민 동원의 국가 민족주의의 정당성을 합리화하고 있는데, 이는 자유와 평등의 가치를 지향하는 민주주의 사회와는 대립되는 것이기 때문에 결코 지양해야 할 것이다. 따라서 세계화 시대의 한국은 점차 다원화 되어가는 구성원들을 수용하는 입장에서 자유주의적 민족주의, 나아가서는 열린 민족주의가 강조되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

For a discussion of nationalism in the era of the globalization has been treating as an obstacle to block the globalization. However, the divided Korea needs an nationalism as an ideological alternative to create a new history nationalism, because it contains common memories as the monolithic of South and North Koreas in a historical lesson. So, we have to find the direction of Korean Nationalism in the globalization and take advantage of nationalism to create an circumstance for unification. Cooperation of marginal state and security should be guaranteed to unify South and North Koreas, but Chinese Nationalism has been on the rise a threatening factor as unification of South and North Koreas. Nationalism has been existing as one of the key role of survival strategy depending on their time and situation since the birth in China. Chinese modern Nationalism is made of the disproof of humiliating spoliation because of the external conflict of Sinocentrism(中華思想). Chinese Nationalism overcome the shame of the past by a power of open economy, and is becoming a fundamental force to effect all over the world. Therefore, Korea should make unification and surroundings for globalized age through counterstrategy to the active Chinese Nationalism and planning of Korean Nationalism by thorough diagnosis and appraisal. For this, Korean Nationalism firstly shouldn't lose the autonomous sense of balance from the outside contact. Also, Korean Nationalism have to inspire the sense of historical resistance to grow the national power which can dispel the inequality of an international society. And, Korea rationalize the state-led nationalism as the aim of modernization of the fatherland in the past. Korea should reject the rationalization, because it is in collision with democracy which values freedom and equality. Therefore, Korea in the era of the globalization should emphasize Liberal Nationalism and Open Nationalism from the point of view of accepting the members who are getting gradually diversified.
