국문 초록

본 논문은 21세기 글로벌 신자유주의시대의 한국사회에서 배제와 소외의 그늘에서 곤란을 경험하는 노인들을 대상으로 하는 한국교회 목회의 과제와 방향에 대하여 탐구한다. 연구자는 21세기 세계화시대의 주요 사회문화적 트렌드를 네 가지 주제, 신자본주의: 하류노인, 뉴 테크놀로지: 미디어 소수자, 포스트모더니즘: 전통과 권위의 해체, 탈종교시대: 영성의 추구 등에 초점을 두었다. 이러한 맥락에서, 21세기 한국교회의 노인목회가 지향해야 할 과제와 방향을 세 가지로 정리하여 제시하였다. 첫째, 고독에서 연대를 지향하는 목회이다. 그것은 노인들의 고독한 삶을 연대를 통하여 창조적인 삶으로 나아가도록 인도하는 목회이다. 둘째, 절망에서 희망의 삶으로 전환하도록 돕는 목회이다. 노인들은 자신들의 육체적, 정신적, 경제적 한계성으로 인하여 낙심과 절망에 빠지기 쉽다. 그러므로 21세기 노인목회는 신앙 안에서 절망에서 벗어나 절대 희망으로 안내하는 것이어야 한다. 셋째, 노인들의 삶을 ‘수동적 생존’에서 ‘참여적 주체’로 전환하도록 돕는 목회이어야 한다. 21세기 한국사회의 호모 헌드레드시대의 상황에서 노인목회는 그들이 단지 오래 사는 것보다는 가치 있고 의미 있는 삶을 살아가도록 돕는 것이 중요한 과제와 방향이 될 것이다.

영문 초록

This article explores new tasks and directions for pastoral care in Korean society for the older generations suffering from exclusion and alienation under the global neo-liberalist system in the 21th century. The Researcher explores four topics, neo-liberalism: the lower classes older, new technology: the minority of media, postmodernism: deconstruction of tradition and authority, era of post-religion: and the pursuit of spirituality, which are found important socio-cultural trends in our times. In this context, researcher suggests a number of ideas concerning pastoral care for the old generations in the 21th century, and to give three suggestions for Korean churches: First, pastoral care for older generations in context of a global neo-liberalist system intended to live from loneliness to solidarity. It means that pastoral care should help the old generations’ solitary lives change into creative and fulfilling life through solidarity with each other. Second, pastoral care for older generations in a global neo-liberalist system aiming to change from despair to hope. Many elderly have an aptitude for discouragement and despair due to physical, mental, and financial limitations. Pastoral care for older generation should aim to guide and help them escape from despair to pursue absolute hope in our spiritual life. Third, Postmodern society in Korea, pastoral care for the elderly should help them not to live in a ‘passive survival mode’, but rather in an ‘active participative subject mode’. Most of all, situations of homo hundred era of Korean society, pastoral care for the older should help them live significant and meaningful lives rather than simply long ones.
