영문 초록
This study was conducted to analyze the awareness of the efficacy of green tea consumption, healthy dietary intake habits, and lifestyle habits with regard to smoking, drinking, and exercise, among 121 males living in Daegu, Gyeongbuk. The awareness of the efficacy of green tea consumption and dietary intake habits were estimated using a 5 point Likert scale. The average age of the subjects was 42.8 years. Those participants who consumed more than 5 cups of green tea per week had significantly higher awareness of its efficacy regarding high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and obesity, and had better scores for the intake of a variety of foods, including fruit and vegetables, milk and dairy products, and a low-salt diet, compared to the other groups. The men who consumed more than 5 cups of green tea per week also had significantly better self-awareness of their health status. The group with regular exercise consumed more green tea than the groups without regular exercise. The participants who consumed more than 5 cups of green tea per week had higher awareness of its efficacy in terms of chronic disease when combined with better dietary intake habits. Therefore, it is anticipated that raising the awareness of the efficacy of green tea will lead to greater green tea consumption.
