Analyse der Darstellung Nordkoreas in DDR-Geschichtsbüchern während des Kalten Krieges

국문 초록

독일통일 이전 동독 역사교과서는 한국전쟁을 어떻게 서술하고 있을까? 이를 규명하기 위하여 필자는 1952년부터 1989년까지 동독에서 출간된 역사교과서 18종을 분석대상으로 선택하였다. 이러한 작업을 통하여 지난 냉전시대 동서진영의 대표적 분단국가였던 동독이 서방진영에 속해 있던 남한과 한국전쟁에 대하여 어떠한 의도에서 교과서 내용을 서술하고 이를 자라나는 2세들에게 가르치고자 했는지를 파악하고자 하였다. 필자는 지난 냉전시대 동독 역사교과서의 북한 관련 서술 내용을 살펴보았는데 분석대상 교과서 모두에 한국 관련 내용이 서술되어 있음을 알 수있었으며, 분석내용을 요약하면 아래와 같다. 첫째, 동독 역사교과서는 1952년부터 1989년까지 시종일관 한국전쟁을 미제국주의의 사주에 의한 남한의북침으로 시작되었다고 기술하고 있다. 둘째, 1950년대 출판된 동독역사교 과서의 특징은 사회주의 형제국가들의 북한 지원을 통하여 한반도 전체를지배하려는 미국의 야욕을 저지시킬 수 있었다는 점을 강조하고 있는 점이다. 셋째, 동독 역사교과서는 한국전쟁 이후 동독의 북한 경제지원과 양국 간의 사회주의적 우호관계를 상세하게 서술하고 있다. 동독 역사교과서는북한의 정식 명칭을 사용하고 있는데 반하여, 남한의 정식 명칭은 교과서에소개하고 있지 않다. 이는 동독 정권이 붕괴되는 시점까지 동독과 남한은 전혀 외교관계가 수립되지 않았기 때문이다. 위에서 살펴 본 바와 같이, 구동독 역사교과서는 시종일관 북한 정권의합법성, 남한에 의한 북한 침략, 북한과 동독의 밀접한 외교관계 및 사회주의 체제의 우월성을 강조하고 있으며, 사회주의 이데올로기를 자라나는 2세들에게 주입할 수 있는 적절한 수단으로 활용되고 있었음을 파악할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the 18 kinds of pre-unification East German history textbooks description of Korean War from 1952 to 1989. This analysis sought to identify what East Germany, the representative divided nation during the cold war period, intended to do through such description of South Korea, a nation of the Western camp, and of Korean War, and by teaching its second generation such historical description. The analysis revealed that all such history textbooks described South Korea, and the analysis is summarized as follows. First, East German history textbooks consistently describe Korean War as South Korea s aggression on North Korea, instigated by the Imperial USA. Second, East German history textbooks, especially published in the 1950s, emphasize that socialist brother nations concerted support for North Korea could resist the U.S. ambition to dominate the entire Korean Peninsula. Third, East German history textbooks detail post-Korean-War East Germany s economic support for North Korea and its socialist friendly ties with North Korea. East German history textbooks use the official name of North Korea, while not mentioning the official name of South Korea. This is because, until its fall, East Germany did not establish diplomatic ties with South Korea. As examined above, the history textbooks of former East German consistently emphasize the legitimateness of North Korean regime, South Korea s aggression on North Korea, the close diplomatic ties between North Korea and East Germany, and the superiority of socialist system, and it was found that socialist ideology was used as an appropriate means of imbuing second generation with communism.
