근대 초기 신문에 게재된 두십랑(杜十娘) 고사(故事) 관련 서사 연구

국문 초록

본 논문은 <기연중절>과 <청루의녀전>이 두십랑 고사라는 같은 이야기에 근거를 둔 개별 서사이면서 근대 신문에 실렸던 작품이라는 공통점을 근거로 하여 두 서사물의 특징을 한 지면에서 생각해본 것이다. 두십랑 고사를 성, 금전, 죽음, 화폐 등과 연관 지어 해석한 선행 연구를 통해, 어떠한 작품이 그대로 전재되지 않고 변형되어 수록될 때 드러날 수 있는 작가나 편자의 의도, 시대상 등에 주목해볼 필요가 있다고 판단했기 때문이다. 연구는, 해당 서사물이 게재된 신문의 일반적 특징과 게재된 면의 속성을 살펴보고, 이후 각 작품의 서술자가 매체의 지향이나 지면의 성격을 고려하여 선택한 내용 전달 방식과 태도, 목표 등에 대해 분석해보는 순서로 진행하였다. 그리고 그러한 방식으로 개작된 작품을 통해 읽을 수 있는 의미를 찾아보고자 했다. 그 결과 <기연중절>의 경우 이 작품이 기사 형식을 취해 남 주인공의 신의 없음과 인간의 사물화라는 조선의 문제적 현실을 오락성을 강화하여 보여줌으로써 조선 지배를 정당화 하는 친일 논리를 펴는 과정에 집중한 작품이라고 보았다. 또 <청루의녀전>은 민족 계몽이라는 목표를 달성하기 위해 소설 형식으로 작품을 개작했는데, 전근대사회의 지배적 논리였던 유가적 이념의 정절 관념을 내세워 기생의 행위에 타당성을 부여하고 정절과 신의라는 문제를 버무려 독자 대중을 향해 직접적인 계도의 목소리를 내는 과정에서, 작중 인물을 타자화하고 논리적인 비약을 감행한 작품이라고 보았다.

영문 초록

This paper considers the characteristics of the two episodes on the ground based on the common point of the and of the episode, which is based on the same story as “Du-shi-niang” and is published in modern newspapers. It is necessary to pay attention to the intentions and the times of writers and horses that can be revealed when a work is transformed without being reprinted as it is, through a precedent study interpreting “Du-shi-niang” in connection with sex, money, death, It is because. The study examines the general characteristics of the newspaper in which the relevant article is published and the attributes of the published page, and then analyzes the contents delivery method, attitude, and goal of the selected artist in consideration of the orientation of the medium or the nature of the paper Respectively. And I wanted to find meaning that I could read through works that were modified in such a way. As a result, I saw as a work focused on the process of establishing a logic of pro-Japanese justification of Chosun domination by showing the problematic reality of Chosun, which is the absence of the faith of the main character and the human objectification. In order to attain the goal of enlightening the nation, the modified the works in a novel style. It gives the validity of the act of parasitism by suggesting the idea of the petty ideology which was the dominant logic of pre-modern society, In the process of directing the voice of the directing toward the audience, it is seen that it is a work that typed the characters and undertook a logical leap.
