The Mediterranean is the multi-cultural civilization’s route and is the sea of the earthenware steamer for the mutual interrelations between Eastern and Western civilizations. Based on these facts, Renaissance can be differently interpreted from an argument of Burckhardt in the last 19th century(“Rediscovery of Greek and Roman culture”). Consequently it goes beyond the bounds of the eurocentric point of view. The Renaissance could be translated differently as a mutual way, the new point of view. The interpretation of mutual interrelations between Eastern and Western civilizations on the Italian Renaissance focuses on three things following: First, any conclusion could not be intended to understand by specific purposes. Second, all related causes could be considered and evaluated as organic and dynamic relations. From the point of view of cultural exchange, the Mediterranean has never been excluded by the Christian world, Arab-Muslim, German and the Norman, rather it was shared by them. Third, generally, the history has to be interpreted not in the logic of negation or denial, but in the logic of the ‘root and branch’(物有本末, 事有終始). According to the interpretation based on‘the theory of mutual interrelations’, The Mediterranean, especially the Sicily and Southern Italy, at which‘Via Francigena’(from Northern Europe until to Jerusalem passing through Italian Peninsula) and‘global multicultural civilizations road(from Gibraltar, Anatolia, India to China)’ are intersected. Besides Arab-Muslim performed a role of ‘a great messenger of civilizations’ to Western Europe after they accept and progress the civilizations derived form the eastern world through ‘Global multicultural civilizations road’. From this point of view, the Italian Renaissance in the 14-16 century was the fruits of the amalgamation of the Wast-west civilizations in the Mediterranean sea.
