국문 초록

이 글에서는 술어명사의 문법적 특성을 밝히고자 했다. 술어명사의 문법적 특성은 술어명사의 어휘상적 특성 때문에 나타나는 것, 의미역 할당의 특성 때문에 나타나는 것, 술어명사의 비지시적 의미 특성 때문에 나타나는 것으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 술어명사는 어휘상적 특성 때문에 상명사(중, 순간, 속), 상동사(시작하다, 계속되다, 끝나다)와 통합한다. 또 술어명사는 의미역을 할당받은 보충관형어와 함께 술어명사구를 형성한다. 마지막으로 비지시적 의미 특성에 때문에 지시관형사, ‘-들’, ‘-마다’와의 결합이 불가능하다. 이 글에서 밝혀진 술어명사의 문법적 특성은 술어명사를 판단해 낼 수 있는 기준으로 이용될 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study attempts to define the grammatical characteristics of predicative nouns as follows. Phrases with predicative nouns as head can have aspectual nouns or aspectual verbs. Thus, this allows for an Aktionsart analysis. Predicative nouns form predicative noun phrases in conjunction with complement-modifiers that have been assigned θ-roles. They cannot be combined with determiners,the plural marker ‘-tul’ or the particle ‘-mata’. These characteristics of predicative nouns result from their lack of [referentiality] and are also the defining criterion of predicative nouns.
