Robinson fortifies his home after discovering footprints and signs of cannibals visiting the island. He hides in a cave for safety and later witnesses another shipwreck, retrieving useful supplies. Eventually, he rescues a captive from the cannibals, naming him Friday and teaching him English and Christianity. Together, they attempt to leave the island but are interrupted by another group of savages. Robinson later rescues a Spaniard and Friday’s father, preparing for escape with their help. An English ship arrives, its crew in mutiny, and Robinson helps the captain regain control. Gaining passage back to England, he leaves the island after years of isolation. His long journey of survival and resilience finally comes to an end as he returns to civilization.
