Preface to the grown-ups.
The present collection brings a selection from the great treasure old and new folk poetry for children. Words that the mother Auditions for the little ones, verses that parrot the little ones, poems, which warm the child's heart and mind and finally some small dramatic scenes, some wishes for birthday, Christmas and New Year are attached. — Some people may find the verses childish. appear; but "Even deep meaning often lies in childish play." As inconspicuous and undemanding as the rhymes are, they reflect the soul of the people again.
