This book is for foreign entrepreneur in foreign-invested companies in Korea to herald them labor management relations in Korea. Unstable labor-management relations is a major factor for Korea to attract foreign investment and/or a management hurdle to overcome for foreign entrepreneurs in Korea.
Korea's trade unions are led by the unions of large corporations and the public sector. The demand of trade unions is high as they are mostly organized in large companies which can afford the high demands and unions’ conflicts with management are common. Korea’s trade union movement is also highly politicized. Communication with trade unions often goes beyond just negotiations on profit sharing and deals with major social issues.
This book will look at the process and characteristics of labor-management relations in Korea, the patterns of labor-management activities with labor market and industrial relations situations in Korea.
This book will help not only the foreign managers in charge of labor-management relations, but also CEOs and managers in other management departments understand labor-management relations and find ways to communicate with employees to build a healthy relationship.

저자(글) 박영범

(저자)Prof. Youngbum Park received his master’s degree and a Ph.D. in economics at Cornell University in USA. Prof. Park teaches in Economic Department at Hansung University in Seoul, Korea. Prof. Park was the 13th President of Human Resources Development Service of Korea. He was also the sixth President of the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training, a government think tank. At Hansung University, he served as a Dean of Academic Affairs.Prof. Park published more than 200 books and papers including two books which received twice Excellent Academic Book Award by the Korean Ministry of Culture and Sports. His merits and citations included the 2016 Grand Prize of Enterprise CEO of the Korea Enterprise Management Association and the Silver Order of Industrial Service Merit of the South Korean Government and the State Contribution Merit of the Cambodian Kingdom Government.
