HAving con？idered with my ？elfe in the？e
dangerous times the great di？tre？？es of the poore of
this City, by rea？on of the contagious di？ea？e of the
pe？tilence, now reigning among？t them; and ？eeing
them to be altogether ignorant, in the u？e of tho？e
meanes that are convenient for their cure, as
purging, vomiting, bleeding, ？weating, and the like:
Therefore con？idering what good the？e few rules
(experimented by my ？elfe) may do unto many, I
was thereby moved to print them, for the benefit of
？uch who want the helpe of the skilfull and faithfull
Phy？ician. For the under？tanding and memory of
tho？e that ？hall have occa？ion to u？e them, I have
divided them into three Chapters, with contents. As
for the medicines pre？cribed, they are ？old by
Apothecaries, who may afford them rea？onably to
the poore: The others adjoyned I ？hall give to the
poore for Gods ？ake, and the rich ？hall have them
for competent ？atisfaction;
but I ？hall e？teeme it my greate？t
reward, if any ？hall receive good and benefit by
my ？mall labours and endevours.
