국문 초록

본 연구는 초고령사회에 진입한 한국에서 인공지능(AI)과 로봇을 활용한 노인 돌봄이제기하는 윤리적 쟁점을 돌봄윤리 관점에서 고찰하고자 한다. 한국의 고령 인구의 급격한증가로 돌봄 수요가 확대되었으나, 인력 부족과 재정적 제약으로 충분히 대응하지 못하고있다. 이에 따라 AI·로봇 기반 돌봄이 새로운 대안으로 주목받고 있으나, 기술 도입이 곧바로 돌봄의 질 향상으로 이어지는 것은 아니다. 돌봄 효율성과 안전성의 개선에도 불구하고 존엄성, 자기결정권, 프라이버시, 관계성, 형평성 등 돌봄의 핵심 가치가 위협받을수 있다. 본 연구는 문헌분석을 통해 네 가지 윤리적 딜레마를 도출하였다: ① 자기결정권과 효율성의 긴장, ② 안전 모니터링과 개인정보 보호의 충돌, ③ 인간관계와 기술 의존성의 갈등, ④ 첨단 기술 접근의 불평등. 분석 결과, AI·로봇 돌봄은 단순한 기술적 과제가 아니라 돌봄의 의미와 본질을 재구성하는 사회적 과정임이 확인되었다. 이를 해결하기 위해 윤리적 설계의 제도화, 법·제도적 장치 강화, 사회적 합의와 협력이 필요함을 제언한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the ethical issues arising from the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and robots in elderly care in Korea’s super-aged society from the perspective of care ethics. Although the demand for elderly care has rapidly increased due to the sharp rise in the aging population, Korea faces significant limitations in manpower and financial resources to adequately respond. Consequently, AI- and robot-assisted care has emerged as a potential alternative; however, the introduction of such technologies does not automatically lead to improvements in the quality of care. Despite advancements in efficiency and safety, fundamental values of care—such as human dignity, autonomy, privacy, relationality, and equity—may be at risk. Through literature analysis, four ethical dilemmas were identified: (1) tension between autonomy and efficiency, (2) conflict between safety monitoring and privacy protection, (3) struggles between human relationships and technological dependence, and (4) inequality in access to advanced technologies. The findings confirm that AIand robot-assisted care is not merely a technical matter but a social process that reshapes the meaning of care. Accordingly, the study highlights the necessity of institutionalizing ethical design, reinforcing legal and institutional safeguards, and building social consensus through multi-stakeholder cooperation.
