AI시대 기술 중심 미래 교육 담론에 관한 비판적 고찰: 장 자크 루소의 ‘에밀’을 기반으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 장 자크 루소(Jean-Jacques Rousseau)의 『에밀』에서 제시하는 인간 중심의 교육 본질에 관하여 살펴봄으로써 인공지능(AI)을 중심으로 한 기술 기반 미래 교육의 한계와 위험성을 비판적으로 고찰하였다. 인공지능, 빅데이터 등 첨단 디지털 기술이 교육에 접목되면서, 교육은 개인화, 효율성 향상이라는 긍정적 효과를 거두기도 했으나 이와 동시에 학습자는 자율적 존재가 아닌 데이터 생성 주체로 전락하고 감정, 도덕성, 공감 능력 등 인간성의 기본을 갖추는 교육의 본질적 가치에서 벗어나는 문제에 봉착하였다. 본 연구는 루소의 『에밀』에서 제안한 자기애(amour de soi), 자존심(amour propre), 소극적 교육(éducation négative)의 세 가지 개념을 중심으로 인간 중심 교육의 가능성을 이론적으로 탐색하였다. 이를 통해 루소가 강조한 인간 내면의 성장과 자율적 성찰, 도덕적 판단 능력은 기술 중심 미래 교육 체계의 대안이 될 수 있으며, 국내 교육 현장에서 시행 중인 감정 기반 생활교육, 회복적 정의 교육, 학생 주도 수업 등의 사례를 통해 루소의 사상이 현대 교육에도 적용 가능한 이론적 기반임을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 기술중심 미래 교육이 놓치고 있는 인간성과 교육 본질의 회복에 루소의 교육 철학이 시사하는 바를 접목하였다.

영문 초록

This study critically examines the limitations and risks of technology-based future education centered on artificial intelligence(AI) by examining the essence of human-centered education presented in Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s “Emile.” As cutting-edge digital technologies such as AI and big data are incorporated into education, education has achieved positive effects such as individualization and increased efficiency. However, at the same time, learners have been reduced to data creators rather than autonomous beings, and have encountered problems of deviating from the essential values of education that equip people with the basics of humanity such as emotions, morality, and empathy. This study theoretically explores the possibility of human-centered education centered on the three concepts of self-love (amour de soi), self-esteem (amour propre), and negative education (éducation négative) proposed in Rousseau’s “Emile.” Through this, the inner growth of human beings, autonomous reflection, and moral judgment ability emphasized by Rousseau can be an alternative to the technology-centered future education system, and through cases such as emotion-based life education, restorative justice education, and student-led classes being implemented in domestic educational settings, it was confirmed that Rousseau's ideas are a theoretical basis that can be applied to modern education. This study grafted the implications of Rousseau's educational philosophy onto the recovery of humanity and the essence of education that technology-centered future education is missing.
