영문 초록

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the antibacterial and growth inhibitory effects of marigold ethanol extract on S. mutans and P. gingivalis and verify its applicability as a functional material for oral health care. Methods: Antibacterial activity against S. mutans and P. gingivalis was evaluated by disk diffusion method and proliferation inhibition assay. Results: The antibacterial effect of TEEE on S. mutans and P. gingivalis increased in a concentration-dependent manner, and the growth inhibitory effect did not show a concentration-dependent trend. Conclusions: TEEE has shown potential for use as a composition for preventing and treating dental caries and periodontal disease.
