국문 초록

이 글은 인간과 기술의 관계라는 측면에서 질베르 시몽동의 『기술적 대상들의 존재양식에 대하여』를 다시 읽어보고자 하는 목표를 가지고 쓰여졌다. 이를 통해 시몽동의 사유가 현대에 미치는 영향을 확인하고 그의 사유를 어떻게 활용할 것인지를 고민해 볼 것이다. 시몽동의 사유는 첫째, 그의 시대에 존재하지 않았던 기술적 대상들이 있는 현재까지도 여전히 기술적 대상을 이해하는 데에 도움이 된다. 둘째, 기술적 대상에 대한 그의 사유는 기술에 대한 인간의 인간 중심적인 사고를 뒤집어 놓는다. 셋째, 기술적 대상을 기반으로 하였으나 인간의 본질에 대한 고민이라는, 포스트휴머니즘적 질문에까지 확장이 되고 있다. 그러므로 이 책을 바탕으로 현재의 우리는 기술적 대상의 위치와 역할을 재정립하고, 기술성의 본질이란 무엇인가를 고민해 볼 수 있다. 또한 그 고민은 기술적 대상의 본질에 대응하는 인간성의 본질이란 무엇인가라는 데에도 이르게 된다. 무엇보다 중요한 것은 기술과 인간의 관계를, 인간만의 편향된 관점에서만 바라보지 않을 수 있게 된다는 것이다. 기술과 인간은 같은 환경과 사회를 공유하는 존재라는 것을 인정하게 되기 때문이다.

영문 초록

This article was written with the goal of re-reading Gilbert Simondon’s Du mode d’existence des objets technologies in terms of the relationship between human and technology. Through this, we will find out the influence of Simondon’s thought on the modern day and consider how to utilize his thought. Simondon s thinking is, first, helpful in understanding technical objects even to this day, where there are technical objects that did not exist in his time. Second, his thinking on technological objects reverses human anthropocentric thinking about technology. Third, although it was based on a technical object, it has been extended to a post-humanistic question of worrying about the essence of human beings. Therefore, based on this book, we can redefine the position and role of technological objects and contemplate what is the essence of technicality. In addition, the concern leads to the question of what is the essence of humanity that corresponds to the essence of the technical object. The most important thing is that we can stop looking at the relationship between technology and humans only from the biased point of view of humans. This is because technology and humans are recognized as beings that share the same environment and society.
