미래 사회 역량으로서의 다문화 리터러시 교육

국문 초록

본 연구는 미래 사회의 역량 중 역량 교육과 포용적 교육에 대한 필요가 확대되는시대에 활발하게 논의되고 있는 다문화 리터러시와 관련된 내용에 주목하여 다문화리터러시의 요소를 구체적으로 밝히고, 다문화 리터러시의 교육 방안을 살피는 것을목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 미래 사회에 요청되는 역량을 다양한 관점으로 나누어분석하고, 이 역량과 다문화 리터러시와의 관련성을 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 미래 역량과 관련하여 다문화 리터러시의 요소를 지식, 기능, 태도영역으로 나누어 각각의 내용을 제시하였다. 지식 요소로는 문화적 소통 맥락에 대한이해, 자문화와 타문화에 대한 이해, 국제 문제 이해, 문화 권력에 대한 이해를 제시하였다. 다음으로 기능 요소로는 외국어 활용 능력, 긍정적 소통 맥락을 위한 관계 형성능력, 문화 맥락에 따른 행동 수정 능력, 글로벌 시민 행동력을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 태도 요소로는 인본지향의 태도, 다문화 상황에 대한 관심, 공감과 포용의 태도, 글로벌 상황에서의 상호의존, 새로운 문화 창조를 제시하였다. 또한 제시한 요소와 관련된 미래 역량을 함양하기 위하여 융합교육과 미래 교육의 방향을 기반에 두고 다문화 리터러시 교육 방안을 제안하였다. 미래 사회 역량으로서의 다문화 리터러시 요소를 설정하는 것은 지금까지 확장적으로 논의되어 온 다문화 리터러시의 개념을 구체화하는 동시에 이를 다문화 리터러시 교육의 요소로 다루어 발전된 다문화 리터러시교육 방안을 제안할 수 있다는 의의를 지닌다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to clarify the concept and elements of multicultural literacy among the competencies of future society in an era in which the need for competency and inclusive education is expanding, and to examine the educational direction of multicultural literacy related to future education policy directions. To this end, future social competencies were analyzed, and the relationship between future social competencies and multicultural literacy was analyzed. In this study, the knowledge elements of multicultural literacy in relation to future competencies were divided into understanding the context of communication, self-culture and other cultures, international issues, and cultural power. Functional elements included the ability to use foreign languages, form relationships for positive communication contexts, modify behaviors according to cultural contexts, and act as global citizens. Finally, regarding attitude elements, each content was presented by dividing it into human-oriented attitude, interest in multicultural situations, attitude of empathy and inclusion, interdependence in global situations, and content of creating a new culture. Setting up multicultural literacy elements as competencies in future society is meaningful in that the concept of multicultural literacy, which has been extensively discussed, can be embodied and treated as elements of multicultural literacy education, and its direction can be proposed.
