초기 청소년의 외현적 및 내현적 자기애가 생활만족도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 초기 청소년의 외현적 자기애 및 내현적 자기애가 자아존중감을 매개하여 생활만족도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법 본 연구에서는 설문조사를 위해 서울시에 소재하는 중학교 2학년 학생들 209명을 대상으로 외현적 자기애, 내현적 자기애, 자아존중감, 생활만족도의 설문 조사 도구들을 이용하였다. 설문 조사를 통해 수집된 자료들은 SPSS 20.0과 AMOS 23.0. 프로그램을 통해 기술통계, 상관관계, 구조방정식 분석을 실시하여 분석하였다. 결과 분석한 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초기 청소년의 외현적 자기애가 생활만족도에 직접적으로 미치는 총 효과는 유의하지 않았고 자아존중감을 통해서 생활만족도에 미치는 외현적 자기애의 간접적 효과가 유의하게 나타남으로써 초기 청소년의 외현적 자기애와 생활만족도의 관계에서 자아존중감의 완전매개효과가 나타났다. 둘째, 초기 청소년의 내현적 자기애는 생활만족도에 직접적으로 유의한 부적 영향을 미치고 자아존중감을 통해서도 유의한 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타남으로써 초기 청소년의 내현적 자기애와 생활만족도의 관계에서 자아존중감의 부분매개효과가 유의하게 나타났다. 결론 본 연구는 외현적 자기애와 내현적 자기애를 구분하여 초기 청소년의 자기애가 자아존중감을 통해 생활만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다는 점에 의의가 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과는 초기 청소년의 건강한 자기애 및 자아존중감을 통한 생활만족도의 향상을 위해 학교와 가정에서의 교육 프로그램 및 방과후 활동을 개발해야 할 필요성을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study is focused on analyzing the mediating effect of self-esteem of early adolescents in the relationship between overt narcissism and covert narcissism and life-satisfaction. Methods For this study, a survey was conducted with 209 second grade students in a middle school in A City, Seoul. Questionnaires were used to assess early adolescents’s overt narcissism and covert narcissism, self-esteem, life-satisfaction. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0. For data analysis, statistical methods adopted were descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation, and structure equation model analysis. Results The results are as follows. First, the total effect of early adolescents’s overt narcissism on life-satisfaction was not significant but overt narcissism exerted an indirect effect on life-satisfaction through self-esteem. In other words, there was a full mediated effect of self-esteem in the relationship between overt narcissism and life-satisfaction of early adolescents. Second, early adolescents’s covert narcissism had a significant negative effect on life-satisfaction through self-esteem. Thus, there was a partial mediated effect of self-esteem in the relationship between covert narcissism and life-satisfaction of early adolescents. Conclusions This study has significance in separate analyses for overt narcissism and covert narcissism, early adolescents’s narcissism revealed the path to affect life-satisfaction by using their self-esteem. Therefore, tthese findings highlight the need for developing education program and after school activity in school and home for healthy narcissism and self-esteem of early adolescents as to promote life-satisfaction.
