국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 아동이 지각한 창의적 학교환경과 시간사용만족도가 아동의 전반적 행복감에 영향을 미치는지 알아보고, 자아존중감이 이들 사이에서 매개효과를 갖는지 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 방법 이를 위해 육아정책연구소(KICCE)의 한국아동패널 10차년도(2017) 자료를 사용하였으며, 총 1,480명의 만9세 아동의 데이터를 사용하여 구조방정식모형 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 아동이 지각한 창의적 학교환경과 시간사용만족도는 아동의 자아존중감에 유의한 정적인 영향을 나타냈다. 둘째, 아동이 지각한 창의적 학교환경은 아동의 전반적 행복감에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 아동이 지각한 시간사용만족도 또한 아동의 전반적 행복감에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 아동의 자아존중감은 창의적 학교환경과 아동이 지각한 시간사용만족도가 아동의 전반적 행복감에 미치는 영향에서 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 아동의 자아존중감은 아동의 전반적 행복감에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것이 확인되었다. 결론 이는 아동의 행복지수를 향상시키는 방안으로 창의적인 학교환경과 아동의 시간사용이 중요함을 시사한다. 또한 본 연구에서는 아동의 자아존중감을 높이고 행복감 증진을 도울 수 있는 방안을 제시함에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate whether children’s perception of creative school environment and time use satisfaction affect children s overall happiness, as well as to investigate whether self-esteem has a mediating effect between them. Methods For this, research data from the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education(KICCE)’s 10th(2017) Panel Study on Korean Children was used. Data from a total of 1,480 9 year old children was used to conduct a structural equation model analysis. Results The results of the study were as follows. First, children’s perception of creative school environment and time use satisfaction showed that they had a significant positive effect on children s self-esteem. Second, children’s perception of creative school environment had a significant effect on children s overall happiness, and children’s perception of time use satisfaction also had a significant effect on the children s overall happiness. Third, children s self-esteem was found to play a mediating role in the effects of creative school environment and children’s perception of time use satisfaction on children s overall happiness. Finally, it was confirmed that children s self-esteem has a positive effect on children’s overall happiness. These results suggest that creative school environment and children s time use are important as measures for improving children’s happiness index. Conclusions In addition, this study is meaningful in proposing measures to help children increase their self-esteem and increase their sense of happiness.
