유아 대상 다문화교육 프로그램 효과에 대한 메타분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 효과적인 유아 다문화교육 프로그램의 구성요소를 도출하기 위해 다문화교육 프로그램들의 효과들을 종합적으로 분석하였다. 방법 2016년 이후 유아 대상 다문화교육 프로그램 실시 효과를 제시한 문헌들을 수집하여 메타분석을 실시하였다. 전체 프로그램의 효과와 함께 프로그램의 목표, 프로그램 접근방법, 연령, 처치기간 등을 기준으로 변인 별 효과성을 검증했다. 결과 다문화교육 프로그램의 목표에서는 자신에 대한 이해, 사회적 기술 증진, 다문화 현상 이해, 다문화 구성원에 대한 태도 등의 순서로 효과가 컸다. 접근방법으로는 특정 주제 중심 통합적 접근, 문학을 통한 통합적 접근, 다문화교육내용요소 중심 통학접 접근, 특정 활동 유형 중심 접근 순서로 효과 크기가 크게 나타났다. 대상 연령은 만 3세, 만 4세, 만 5세 순서로 효과크기가 컸고, 만 4, 5세 혼합 연령의 효과크기는 보통으로 나타났다. 처치기간은 16주 미만에서는 효과크기가 크게 나타났지만 16주 이상에서는 낮게 나타났다. 결론 향후 유아를 대상으로 다양한 주제의 다문화교육 내용을 유치원 교육과정과의 통합적인 형태로 활발히 실시할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to comprehensively analyze the effects of multicultural education programs to derive the components of effective multicultural education programs. Methods A meta-analysis was conducted by collecting literature that suggested the effect of implementing multicultural education programs for young children after 2016. In addition to the effectiveness of the entire program, the effectiveness of each variable was verified based on the program s goal, program approach, age, and treatment period. Results The goals of the multicultural education program were effective in the following order: understanding oneself, enhancing social skills, understanding multicultural phenomena, and attitude toward multicultural members. As for the approach, the effect size was found to be large in the order of an integrated approach centered on a specific subject, an integrated approach through literature, an integrated approach centered on multicultural education content elements, and an approach centered on specific activity types. For the target age, the effect size was large in the order of 3 years, 4 years, and 5 years, and the effect size of the 4-5 years mixed age was average. For the treatment period, the effect size was large for less than 16 weeks, but it was low for more than 16 weeks. Conclusions In the future, it is necessary to implement the contents of multicultural education on various topics in an integrated form with the kindergarten curriculum for young children.
