영문 초록

In recent fashion trends, ugliness is understood as indicative of individuality. Pursuing functionality or practicality rather than beauty, the Gorpcore look, also called “ugly fashion”, which matches outdoor items with daily clothes, is garnering attention. This study aimed to draw the images that could be expressed through Gorpcore-look and also considered the styling characteristics of each image by analyzing Gorpcore looks shown in fashion collections in the last three years. This study found that four types of images could be expressed through the Gorpcore look: classic, retro, sporty, and feminine. It also found that the crossover or layered coordination technique was utilized many times. The significance of this study was to verify the possibility of expressing diverse images of Gorpcore-look also called ‘ugly fashion’, and also to draw diverse styling techniques for Gorpcore-look with the basis of outdoor items.
