국문 초록

본고는 핵심역량을 둘러싼 정책적 논의와 틀을 살펴보고 2015 개정 교육과정의 핵심역량 교육과정이 어떻게 이해될 수 있는지를 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 핵심역량 교육과정을 이해할 수 있는 이론적․실제적 틀을 구안하여 핵심역량 교 육과정의 기본 구상과 골격, 반성적․비판적 견해를 검토하였다. 2015 개정 교육과정의 역량 교육과정의 골격은 「교과 역량-기능-활동」으로 이루어져 있다. 수행능력으로 표현되는 ‘기능’은 내용 요소와 유기적으로 결합되어 성취기준에 반영되었으 며, 기능과 활동을 바탕으로 역량 수업과 역량 평가가 이루어진다는 구도이다. 2015개정 교육과정의 역량 교육과정은 지식의 배제가 아니라 지식을 습득하는 데 머물지않고 학생의 생활 및 삶과 연결하여 지식을 활용하는 데 중점을 둔다. 따라서 2015 개정 교육과정의 역량 교육과정은 오히려 교과의 본질을 더 잘 드러나게 함과 동시에 교과를 더 잘 이해하도록 가르치는 접근이 될 수 있다는 관점을 취한다. 본고에서는 2015 개정 교육과정의 역량 교육과정이 보다 발전적으로 제고되기 위해 교과의 틀이나 경계를 흔드는 것보다는 교과 교육을 제고하는 방향에서 모색할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다. 또한 총론의 핵심역량을 범교과 학습과 결합시켜 일반적․범용적 역량으로서의 총론 핵심역량의 기능이 보다 적극적으로 발휘되도록 모색할 필요가 있 음을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the existing discussions on key competencies and to explore how key competency curriculum of 2015 revised curriculum can be understood and what possibilities can be found. To this end, the study devised a theoretical and practical framework to understand 2015 revised curriculum, while reviewing the reflective and critical views on the design of key competency-based curriculum in the 2015 revised curriculum. The 2015 revised curriculum is designed to reflect key competencies on the existing subject curriculum framework. The key competency curriculum consists of ‘subject competencies –skill –activities in 2015 revised curriculum. Therefore, teaching, learning and evaluations under the 2015 revised curriculum can be identified when considering the relationship between subject content and skill and activities based on achievement standard. In addition, the key competencies of General Guideline and the subject competencies are interrelated, but these two are not hierarchical relationships, or one is not included in the other. The subject competencies are based on the key competencies of the General Guideline, but it is meaningful in itself. Finally, the study suggested that the possibilities of competency curriculum in Korea can be found in the subject curriculum and in cross-curricular themes.
