영유아 자유선택활동 연구의 최근 동향 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 영유아 교육기관의 자유선택활동을 주제로 한 국내 선행연구의 동향을 분석하고 연구방향 설정을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2017년 9월부터 2018년 1월까지 자료검색 및 연구목적에 부합하는 연구대상을 수집하였다. 선정된 연구대상은 2012년부터 2017년까지의 등재 및 등재 후보 학술지에 게재된 75편 의 국내연구로 각 연구의 연구대상, 표집인원, 연구의 유형, 연구방법, 자료분석 방법 및 연구주제에 따른 연구 동향을 살펴보았다. 연구결과 자유선택활동 관련연구는 2015년도를 기준으로 점차 감소하는 추이를 보였다. 연구대상으로는 단일대상 중 유아에 대한 연구가 가장 많이 이루어졌다. 표집인원은 양적 연구의 경우 100명 이하, 질적 연구에서는 21명 이상의 연구가 많았다. 연구유형은 질적 연구방법이 양적 연구보다 상대적으로 많이 이루어졌다. 연구방법은 질적 연구의 문화기술학연구가 가장 많이 나타났으며, 양적 연구의 분석방법으로는 차이검증이 가장 많았다. 연구주제의 동향을 살펴보면 영유아의 자유선택활동 놀이행위에 관한 연구가 가장 많은 비중을 차지하였고, 자유선택활동 교수학습방법, 자유선택활동과 발달 등의 순으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 영유아 발달에 중요한 영향을 미치는 자유선택활동에 대한 동향을 분석하고 논의를 통해 이후 연구의 확장 및 심화에 도움을 줄 것이라 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends of previously conducted domestic researches on free-choice activities in the early childhood education institutions and to provide reference data for establishing directions for future researches. To achieve the purpose, we reviewed 75 domestic researches published in listed journals or in the candidate journals for listing from 2012 to 2017 by examining research trends according to research subjects, research types, research methods, data analysis methods, and research themes. As a result of this research, it was found that the research on free-choice activities showed a tendency of gradually decreasing from 2015. Most of researches were conducted on young children among single subjects. For the number of sample, it was less than 100 young children in the case of quantitative researches and more than 21 young children in the case of qualitative researches. For the research type, qualitative researches were conducted relatively more than quantitative researches. The most of researches were ethnographical researches in qualitative research, and the most of analysis method in the quantitative research was the different verification. Looking at the trends of research themes, the research on free-choice activities accounted for the biggest proportion, followed by ‘the methods of teaching through free-choice activities’ and ‘the free-choice activities and development’. The results of this study intended to analyze and discuss trends in free-choice activities having an important impact on the development of young children are expected to help expand and deepen future research.
