중학교 기술․가정 교과서에 제시된 인구교육 내용 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 중학교 기술․가정 교과서 12종에 제시된 저출산・고령사회 대비와 관련된 인구교육 내용의 반영 정도를 분석하여 향후 인구교육 관련 교과서 내용 선정에 대한 시사점을 도출하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중학교 기술・가정 교과서에 제시된 인구교육 내용을 대영역별로 살펴보면 ‘가족(42.88%)’이 가장 많고, ‘복지(34.59%)’, ‘인간존중(16.53%)’, ‘인구(6.20%)’ 순으로 나타났다. 즉 가족, 복지 관련 내용에 치중하여(60%이상) 내용이 구성되어 있다. 둘째, 중학교 기술・가정 교과서에 제시된 인구교육 내용을 분석한 결과 평균적으로 42.10쪽 정도를 다루고 있었다. 특히 교과서I는 79.93로 상대적으로 많은 내용을, 교과서D(28.80)는 적은 분량을 다루어 교과서 간에 그 정도의 차이가 매우 큰 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 중학교 기술가정 교과서에서 인구교육을 제시하고 있는 자료유형을 살펴보면 ‘본문’(47.4%)이 가장 많고, ‘사진·삽화․도표(21.6%), 읽기자료(15.8%), 탐구활동 (15.1%)’의 순서로 활용하는 자료 유형 간 차이가 매우 큰 것으로 나타났다. 저출산·고령사회 대비를 위해서는 인구교육에 대한 교사, 학생 등의 이해력 제고와 인식 변화가 필요하다. 본 연구를 통해 중학교 기술・가정 교과서 집필 시 인구 교육과 관련하여 인간존중, 가족, 인구, 복지영역별 고루 균형을 갖춘 내용, 그리고 다양한 유형의 자료 개발 등이 필요함을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find population education in the future based on quantitative and qualitative analysis of the level of inclusion of in the middle-school Technology · Home Economics textbooks. The result was as follows: First, Technology · Home Economics textbooks showed showed that, ‘Family (42.88%)’, ‘Welfare (34.59%)’, ‘Respect for Humans (16.53%)’, and ‘Ⅲ. Population (6.20%)’ were discussed most in the order. Second, Technology · Home Economics textbooks showed that, on average, the contents related to population education were discussed on 42.10 pages. In particular, Textbook I discussed the subject relatively in depth, on 79 pages, while Textbook D contained much less contents (28.80) related to the subject in comparison. Third, Technology · Home Economics textbooks, ‘main text’ (47.4%) showed the highest frequency, followed by ‘pictures, figures, and tables (21.6%)’, ‘reading materials’ (15.8%), and ‘research activities (15.1%).’ In other words, there was a wide difference between different types of materials. To prepare for low birthrate and aging society, it is necessary to improve understanding and awareness of the subject among teachers and students. Based on the findings in this study, it will be necessary to reflect various types of materials in different areas of population education when developing middle school Technology · Home Economics textbooks.
